Transio
Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 4, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Smapu Technology Co., Ltd. ("Smapu", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use Transio (the "App"). Transio is designed to help you translate text using system translation features and translation providers that you configure.
We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. Most App data is stored locally on your device unless you choose to use external translation services, iCloud sync, purchases, diagnostics, or other platform features.
2. Information You Provide or Store in the App
Depending on how you use the App, information may include:
- Text you enter, select, paste, or send for translation.
- Translation results and translation history stored on your device.
- Translation provider settings, such as provider type, endpoint, region, model, and API keys that you choose to save.
- App preferences, including language, security, history retention, and display settings.
Smapu does not operate a backend service that receives or stores your translation history, provider configurations, endpoints, models, API keys, or provider credentials. This information is kept on your device, except when you choose to use Apple platform sync features such as iCloud.
API keys and provider credentials are stored on your device using local secure storage where supported. When you use a configured translation provider, the App may send the required credential directly from your device to that provider as part of the translation request. We do not receive or store those credentials.
You are responsible for the external provider accounts, credentials, and endpoints you configure.
3. Translation Providers and Third-Party Services
When you use a translation provider, the text you submit for translation may be sent to that provider so it can return a translation result. These providers may include Apple system services, traditional translation APIs, large language model services, OpenAI-compatible endpoints, or other providers you configure.
Third-party translation providers process information under their own privacy policies and terms. We do not control how those providers process content, logs, account data, or billing data.
4. iCloud and Device Sync
Transio may use Apple iCloud or CloudKit to sync App data across your devices when the feature is available and enabled through your device and iCloud settings. Synced data may include App preferences, translation history, and provider configuration data needed to keep your experience consistent across devices.
This data is stored in your private iCloud account and processed by Apple according to Apple's terms, privacy policies, and your iCloud settings. Smapu does not operate a separate backend to receive or store this synced data, and we do not directly access the contents of your private iCloud storage.
You can control iCloud availability, device sync, and related storage through iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and iCloud settings. If you disable iCloud sync, App data may remain local to the device where it is stored.
5. Purchases
Transio Pro and any other paid digital features are purchased through Apple In-App Purchase and the App Store. Apple processes the payment, billing, tax, refund, and purchase account information according to Apple's own terms and privacy policies.
The App may receive purchase status, transaction identifiers, product identifiers, and receipt or entitlement information from Apple so it can unlock, restore, and manage paid features on your device. We do not receive your payment card number, bank account details, or full App Store account credentials.
If you request a refund, cancel a purchase, or restore a purchase, those actions are handled through Apple and the App Store purchase system.
6. Diagnostics and Crash Reports
The App may collect limited diagnostic information to help us analyze crashes, fix bugs, and improve stability. This may include device model, operating system version, App version, crash details, performance data, and technical logs.
Diagnostic information is used only for troubleshooting, crash analysis, and App improvement. We do not intentionally include translation text, translation history, provider configurations, endpoints, API keys, or provider credentials in diagnostic data.
7. How Information Is Used
Information stored in the App is used locally on your device to provide translation features, keep your preferences, manage provider configurations, and retain translation history according to your settings.
When you choose to use a translation provider, the App uses the text and provider settings needed to send the request directly from your device to that provider. Smapu does not receive or use your translation content, provider configuration, endpoints, API keys, or provider credentials.
Purchase status information is used to unlock paid features. Limited diagnostic information is used to analyze crashes, fix bugs, and improve App stability. If you contact us for support, we use the information you provide to respond to your request.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Translation history, provider configurations, preferences, and other App data are retained on your device according to your settings, device storage, and the App features you use. For example, translation history may be kept or removed based on the history retention option you choose in the App.
You can delete local App data by using available App controls, changing retention settings, deleting saved providers or history, or removing the App from your device. If you use iCloud sync, deleting data on one device may sync that deletion through Apple's iCloud system depending on your iCloud settings and Apple platform behavior.
Smapu does not maintain a separate backend copy of your translation history, provider configurations, endpoints, API keys, or provider credentials. Data sent to third-party translation providers, diagnostic services, Apple, or other external services must be retained and deleted according to those services' own policies and controls.
9. Children
Children may use Transio only with appropriate parent or guardian permission where required by applicable law, Apple policies, or family device settings.
We do not design the App to collect personal information directly from children, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal information for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties. The App's main data is stored locally on the device, except for user-enabled Apple sync, user-configured translation provider requests, App Store purchases, diagnostics, and support communications described in this Policy.
Parents or guardians should supervise children's use of translation providers, API keys, purchases, and synced devices. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review the request and take appropriate action.
10. Changes and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date on this page. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
